Nepal’s Transition To Democracy To Be Included In CBSE Syllabus

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), has included the ‘peoples movement’ in Nepal that helped in transforming the State from Monarchy to democracy, in the syllabus. Now the students of VIII th class studying social sciences under the CBSE syllabus, will learn about Nepal’s transition towards democracy.

The recent happenings in Nepal, and its dramatic transformation into a democratic state will be taken as a case study by class 8 students. The book has been prepared by National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT), and about two pages has been dedicated about Nepal’s transition to democracy. The chapter also include the pictures of people protesting against the monarchy.
