DU’s ‘Golden’ Workshop

Delhi University’s Department of Geology is on the verge of organising an International Field Workshop on the theme of ‘Gold Metallogeny in India’. This 11-day workshop would be held in collaboration with NGRI — National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad from 3rd December to 13th December, 2008 and will be ably supported by the Society of Economic Geologists, USA and Department of Science & Technology and Hutti Gold Mines Company Limited.

The workshop is a part of the ‘Deposit Modeling Program conceived on the lines of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) and the Earth Science Division of UNESCO. The basic purpose of this initiative is to extend the knowledge and expertise in mineral deposit modelling for use in the assessment and development of resources along with their exploration. This program would also enable the exchange of expertise between geoscientists of various countries. Previously, the IUGS-UNESCO sponsored program was held at the Delhi University in December 2001 with an endeavour to train Indian geoscientists in mineral deposit types.

Aviation University In Hyderabad

Hyderabad is on the verge of getting an international civil aviation university. Concordia University of Canada would be setting up the aviation-themed University. In all probability, the University would start offering its various courses in 2009. The campus would be set-up around 2010 in India’s first aerospace-oriented special economic zone in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.

It has been proposed that it will be called the International Civil Aviation University (ICAU). The project would seek investment in the range of $40 to 50 million. The University’s initial programmes would include B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, M.Sc. Aeronautical Engineering, B.Sc. Aviation Management, M.Sc. Air Transport Management and Aviation MBA. The University would span across Hyderabad, Montreal and Toulouse.

The Dean of the top notch business schools, Indian School of Business, announced the plans to open a campus in Pinjab at Mohali, as quoted by Economic Times. In its report, the news daily wrote that the business school is planning to increase its student capacity from 440 seats to 560 seats next year.

The Hyderabad based Indian School of Business is one of the few to be accredited by International organisations and agencies. Financial Times ranked it among the top 20 business schools in the world. The world-class education has further marked the developmental changes in the country.  

The graduates completing their courses from the reputed business schools in India are instantly placed in the industry and occupy good positions. Indian talent is being approved and recognized at International level and much credit goes to the popular schools of India.
