CBSE Textbook Says About Nepal’s Political Transition

According to one popular news agency, CBSE has incorporated some excerpts about Nepal’s recent transition from monarchial state to a democratic state. The text has been added in the class 8 social science textbook. The excerpt is said to lay importance on the constitution and its significance in a welfare state.

The textbook is prepared by National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT). NCERT has been very careful while working with sensitive issues. It has been many times dragged into debates and controversies.

An NCERT official was quoted by a news site as having said: “We wanted to talk about a country where political transition has taken place in recent times. Neighbouring Nepal is a perfect example of that. I am sure our young students will be able to relate to it.”

School textbooks are getting livelier with the rich text supplied to them. The curriculum updates are very important and should be incorporated from time to time. As new events and occurrences take place it is vital to include them in the school textbooks so that students can have a comprehensive knowledge about them and also express their own opinions on the matter.
