Foreign Universities to urge for the Entry
As the demand in the education sector continues to rise exponentially,
foreign institutions are compelling Indian government to let them in and
start their own operations. Many foreign universities have complained
that the government is yet to allow them to create their own degree
programmes.
Apparently, the most interested in the Indian subcontinent have been the
American and British colleges and universities. Several institutions have
expressed their resentment as the government has shown green signal for
corporations and other industry vertical, but not the education.
There have been a number of times when foreign delegations have reached
India to take up the matter to the authorities and make some
arrangements. According to a website independent.co.uk: “A draft bill
allowing foreign universities to set up campuses in India was scheduled
to be introduced in Parliament in March last year but has yet to see the
light of day.”
Every year thousands of Indian students go abroad for higher education
and admission in foreign colleges. The cost and expenses incurred make it
pricey and only a small number of students can afford the money. To
add-on, banks and financial institutions are providing the assistance and
financial help for students seeking admissions in foreign universities.
Some people argue that the country is losing the essential human
resource, as young and brilliant students are leaving the country and
settle abroad. At the same times the government is under constant
pressure, as it does not want a total control of any foreign agency on
the education institution. |
