Sheffield University to Partner with Indian Varsities
In the past couple of years, foreign universities have shown a great
interest in Indian students and programmes. Many institutions have come
up with student exchange programmes and partnership initiatives in
various sectors of research and education.
One of the newest to join the motion is UK based Sheffield Hallam
University. The university has been keen to establish ties with business,
industry and the public center. The varsity is popular for several
partnership programmes in areas like applied research, consultancy,
intellectual property, knowledge transfer partnerships, sponsorships,
enterprise and entrepreneurship, etc.
Sheffield Hallam University has opened its office in the country and
would be looking after students seeking admissions in the university. The
university is said to have partnered with six Indian varsities.
As posted on the news website, Business Standard, Prof Philip Jones told
reporters: “We want to carry out joint research and students’ and faculty
exchange programmes for mutual benefit.”
Sheffield Hallam University has services extended mostly across Europe
and Asia. Over 30,000 students and 4000 staff members make it one of the
popular among the modern universities in UK. The university also works
with 25 professional bodies and industry leaders in the world.
Meanwhile a 60-member delegation from US based university Wilkes
University, have reached the country for a two-day visit. The university
is in the process of developing an exchange program with the Patiala
University. |
