Clearing an exam of the magnitude of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) level is a Herculean task in itself let alone top it. But 7 of our Indian students have done just that and passed in flying colors in the CIE this year. One of them is Karan Handa from British School, Delhi. Karan has really made the Delhiites feel proud of him. He has bagged the first position this year. Other toppers of CIE are Mahesh Rajesh Agrawal, Abhimanyu Lele, Abdullah Shaikh, Karuna Kadam and Sejal Pachisia.
Every year thousands of students all across the world work hard to top this examination. In 2008, Alokik Mishra of Choithram International (Indore) topped in Accounting, Neil Surendra Satra of Dhirubhai Ambani International School (Mumbai) topped in Mathematics and Ajay Ravindran of Mallya Aditi International School (Bangalore) topped in Mathematics at the AS level.
Studies reveal that Indian students are consistently doing well in the Cambridge International Examinations. They have managed to get the top grade this year. Moreover the number of students with A and A* grades in India has also increased from 34% in 2007 to 38% in 2009. “Indian students are now on the 5th position/rank from rest of the world in their performance,” said Ian Chambers, regional manager for South Asia, CIE.
