The noted management institutes in India, IIMs have refuted the report that online tests will be conducted for the admissions in the premier institutes. There were reports earlier about the institutes and a committee to be working on the possible conduction of tests in 2008 and near future. However, the institutes have said the reports to be incorrect as there have been no such arrangements made.

The selection for the leading management institutes of India is marked by Common Admission Test or CAT. The scores obtained in the CAT determine the selection of candidates in IIMs as well as other affiliated management institutes. This year, many students were made to believe that the CAT tests would also be conducted online after the publishing of such news by some web sites. According to one such report, the CAT 2008 was supposed to be conducted online after the committee had consulted with the famous test conducting company Prometric. But, the officials have ascertained that there have been no such plans for 2008.

Common Admission Test or CAT is considered as one of the demanding entrance examinations in the world. A large number of students from different parts of the country appear in the test to get admitted to the popular B-schools of India. Test centers are located in different cities of India. No doubt the online test would make it easy for the students to appear in the tests, but the arrangement would have to be an extensive one.
